Tussle Over Leadership Clause As CFPB Case Nears Top Court

With a legal challenge to the constitutionality of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) set to go before the Supreme Court in just over a month, more than a dozen outside parties with an interest in the case have filed briefs with the high court arguing in favor of the consumer watchdog — and advocating for an alternative remedy to invalidating the entire agency should the court rule against the bureau.
