U.S. Banks May Lose Exemption Under Uniform Privacy Regulation

A U.S. uniform privacy law should apply to financial institutions in the same way it does to other firms, the Main Street Privacy Coalition has said in a submission to the Uniform Law Commission. At the same time, the American Bankers Association claims the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act provides sufficient protections for bank customers.
